Format of Session: Roundtables with Work Stations

Audience Level: k-12, College

Title of Session: Literacy Skills and Technology: Using Web 2.0 Tools in the English/Language Arts Classroom

Annotation: In this session we introduce Internet resources that support reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. Participants will select two demonstrations  from the five offered: Using Wikis, Making Movies with Web 2.0, Using Social Networking in English, Reading Multimodal Texts, and Supporting Critical Perspectives of Internet Media.  

This session, sponsored by the FCTE Commission on 21st Century Literacies, showcases technologies and teaching techniques that support k-12 students in developing literacy skills to support their active and responsible participation in a changing world. Participants will have an opportunity to select from stations that will be made available and will have an opportunity to speak with presenters and to ask questions and see demonstrations.
