We have a Creative Commons License and ask that you give attribution to the young men and women who wrote the film guides. They were all students in the University of Florida English Proteach program. These units were created as a culminating assignment in LAE 6861: Technology and Media Literacy. Students in this course focus on how to use technology and media literacy to enhance student learning. Most of these lessons are focused on secondary classrooms, but some are appropriate for elementary classrooms, too. These units of study could also be used in the new course adopted by the state of Florida in 2004: Literature in the Media.

Note: All of the lessons posted here are for instructional purposes. The prospective teachers who have created these lessons have considered US Film Ratings and are required to use films that are PG or PG-13. They understand that local and district policies for using film should be followed. If you elect to use these instructional packages, you are responsible for checking school district and local guidelines.

(English Proteach is a state-approved, teacher-education program. Student are required to address the Florida Standards (Sunshine State Standards) in curriculum and in lessons that they design.
